Brazilian Barbecue or ‘Churrasco’ (pronounced as shoo-RAS-koo)
was the traditional meal of the ‘gauchos’ or cowboys of Southern
Brazil for centuries before spreading to Rio de Janeiro and Sao
Paulo.
Dining has become very fashionable at excellent Churrascarias’
(restaurants specializing in Brazilian barbecue) around the world;
and here in Singapore, Samba Brazilian Steakhouse Churrascaria
takes pleasure introducing this delightful ‘Churrasco’ specially
prepared and served by our renowed Brazilian chef.
‘Churrascaria de Rodizio’ simply refers to the special way of
serving the customers, where ‘Passadors’ bring carefully barbecued
meats on skewers from table to table and slice generous portions
onto your plate.

Located in the heart of Katong, an area familiar and dear to
Singapore, Katong Village was the former site of Joo Chiat Police
Station. Since 1987, the police station has shifted and in replacement
was a variety of exotic eateries. One of which is Samba
Brazilian Steakhouse Churrascaria.
In its history, Katong has always been identified as an idyllic
sea-side retreat, where the rich and influential build grand villas
and bungalows along sandy beaches. This ambience continues to
today. Surrounding Katong Village is a delightful variety of ethnic
shophouses, all retaining their individualistic laid-back charm
and character of old. The former police station itself is a gem
of pre-war architectural design. Many of these buildings are now
also specialty stores where you may just uncover that unique treasure
you have always been seeking.
Katong Village itself was converted from an operational police
headquarters, to a hub of food and entertainment, as part of the
urbanization plans of the 80s. With plentiful parking and extremely
convenient access to various shopping locations, it has since
became a favourite hangout of Singaporeans and foreigners alike.
In the middle of this is Samba, devoted to bringing you the true
taste and passion of authentic Brazilian Churrascaria cuisine.
